Family Activities In Dublin This Easter

Although it only feels like last week we were taking down the Christmas tree, Easter time is almost upon us once again. We love Easter here in the Aspect Hotel and not just because it’s an excuse to eat chocolate eggs for breakfast, but because there is so much to do in Dublin. Here are some family activities to do in Dublin this Easter:

    Mad Hatters Tea Party

On Easter Sunday 16 April, from 1 pm to 5 pm in Deerpark, all is not as it seems! Characters from the famous ‘Alice in Wonderland’ novel by Lewis Carol come to life for a very special family-friendly event. Bring a picnic or buy some tea and cakes from the tuck shop and dine at the picnic tables after a very unusual giant game of chess. Guests are encouraged to dress up and wear the maddest hat possible. Make the Mad Hatter proud!

    Barnardos Easter Egg Hunt

Children’s charity Barnardos and world-famous chocolatier Cadburys have once again teamed up to run the annual Easter Egg hunt on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March 2018 all around Merrion Square. To date, this annual event has raised €106,000 to support the fantastic work Barnardos does to help vulnerable children in Ireland. Pay €20.00 per family of four and spend hours searching for chocolate eggs and enjoying music workshops, face painting, petting zoo and wooden games in the Cadbury Easter Bunny village.

    Butlers Chocolate Experience

This one is definitely not just for the children, chocolate is a language we all understand. Butlers Chocolate offer visitors the chance to visit a real-life chocolate factory. Bookings can be made online for a three-hour slot and you learn about (and sample!) their delicious Irish chocolate. You will learn where the chocolate comes from and get to see behind the scenes of a working chocolate factory. You also get to decorate your own chocolate egg to take with you.

    The Ark Events And Workshops

Visit this award-winning cultural centre dedicated to children and based in the heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar. The Ark is aimed at children between 3-12 and has everything from visual art camps to interactive plays. Established in 1995, The Ark is a fantastic way for children, along with their families and friends or with their school, to discover and love art in all forms. Their Easter exhibition/interactive workshops are focused on built-up spaces and how best to use them, perfect to encourage a future artist or architect.
